The menu has much character with interesting names and description of their beverages. I'm a huge fan of their tesora (occasional tesora mocha), dancing waters, and ambrosia coffee of god. They creativity in their descriptions make the coffee sound appetizing that choosing one is always difficult when I drop by. The coffee served is a blend that Phil, the owner, has been customizing for years. He's developed mixes of the finest qualities of coffee beans around the world to give fresh, smooth, and blended coffee. Philz coffee began its business in San Francisco and has expanded to four shops in the SF area, one in Palo Alto (near Stanford), one in San Jose, and soon to be coming to Berkeley at Cedar and Shattuck. I'm personally thrilled to hear about the shop opening up in the Berkeley as it will add on to the finest of gourmet ghetto and other cute and unique restaurants around the area. If you love coffee, then this place is great for you.
